All products are tested and quality controlled. This spindle is a development of ideas I have worked on for supported spindles with more spin duration. The spin characteristic and general size and handing make this design intermediate between traditional Russian and traditional Tibetan spindles. The shaft is made from Frogwood. Frogwood is ideal for a supported spindle as it is completely stable and very hard wearing.
The spindle is finished with french polish for a long lasting shine and protection. Frogwood is phenolic resin impregnated wood veneers that are laminated and compressed. It is more stable than regular timber, and quite a bit tougher than most timbers.
The ball shaped whorl is an attractive shape that enhances the wood grain this shape adds great duration to the spin. The support tip has a fine titanium point for extended life, long spins and low friction. Your spindle is checked for quality and spin before despatch and comes with tip protectors. This spindle style has a very long spin and excellent balance.
All my spindles are tested before despatch and come with a free sample of our lovely fibres.
